Does My iOS Device Support eSIM?

Whether your device supports eSIM depends on whether the manufacturer has included eSIM functionality.

Some countries or regions may release models without eSIM support, or your carrier may disable eSIM functionality on your device.

Follow the steps below to check if your iOS device supports eSIM.
Please note that these steps may vary depending on your device.
For the most accurate confirmation, we recommend contacting your device manufacturer or carrier.

For iPhone

  1. Open the Settings app and tap General
  2. Go to About
  3. Tap Model Number until it changes to a format like AXXXX
  4. Check that your iPhone model is not from China

If your model is not from Mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macau, your device should support eSIM.

Next, check if your iPhone is carrier locked:

  1. Open Settings → General → About
  2. Scroll down to Carrier Lock
  3. If it shows “No SIM restrictions”, your iPhone is unlocked and can use eSIM

For iPad

  1. Open the Settings app and tap General
  2. Go to About
  3. Tap Model Number until it changes to AXXXX format
  4. Check that your iPad model is not from China

If your iPad:

  • Is not from Mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macau, and
  • Supports Wi-Fi + Cellular

Then your device should be compatible with eSIM.

Important Notes

  • eSIM compatibility may vary depending on region and carrier
  • Even if the device supports eSIM, it may not be available if:
    • The device is carrier-locked
    • The carrier does not enable eSIM
