Does My Android Device Support eSIM?

Does My Android Device Support eSIM?

Android is an open-source operating system, which means device manufacturers and carriers can customize it.
As a result, some regions may release models without eSIM support, or your carrier may disable eSIM functionality on your device.

Follow the steps below to check if your Android device supports eSIM.
Please note that these steps may vary depending on your device.
For the most accurate confirmation, we recommend contacting your device manufacturer or carrier.

For Samsung Galaxy Devices

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Tap Connections
  3. Select SIM Card Manager

If you see an option to “Add eSIM”, your device likely supports eSIM.

For Google Pixel Devices

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Tap Network & Internet
  3. Tap the “+” icon next to SIM

If you see the option:
“Download a SIM instead?”, your device supports eSIM.

For Other Android Devices

  1. Dial *#06# and press the call button
  2. If your device supports eSIM, you should see an EID (eSIM unique identifier) displayed

Check if Your Device is Carrier Unlocked

Your device must be unlocked to use eSIM from different carriers.

To check:

  1. Remove your current SIM card
  2. Insert a SIM card from another carrier
  3. Check if the carrier name at the top of your screen changes
  4. Try making a phone call
  • If the call connects → your device is unlocked
  • If not → your device is likely carrier-locked

You may also see a notification indicating the device is locked.

Still Not Sure?

If you’re unsure, please contact your device manufacturer, seller, or carrier to confirm eSIM compatibility.
