eSIM Installation Tutorial

Thank you for choosing DiTrip eSIM. Please follow the steps below to complete installation and activation.
We recommend installing your eSIM while connected to Wi-Fi or an existing mobile network to ensure a smooth download and setup process.


1. Before Installation

Check Device Compatibility
Make sure your device supports eSIM functionality.
(You can refer to official support lists from Apple, Samsung, or Google, or contact our support team.)

Ensure Internet Connection
Connect to Wi-Fi or ensure your current SIM has an active data connection.

Prepare Installation Details
After purchase, you will receive:

  • A QR code (recommended installation method), or
  • Manual installation details (SM-DP+ server address and Activation Code)

Timing of Installation
Once the QR code is scanned, the eSIM is considered activated.
Please install it before departure or upon arrival at your destination.


2. Installation Guide

A. iPhone (iOS 16 or later)

  1. Open the Camera and scan the provided eSIM QR code.
  2. Tap the notification: “Cellular Plan Detected.”
  3. Follow the instructions and select “Add Cellular Plan.”
  4. After installation, go to:
    Settings → Cellular → Select the new plan → Turn on this line

We recommend naming the eSIM “DiTrip” for easy identification.

👉 Manual Setup:
Settings → Cellular → Add Cellular Plan → Use “Enter Details Manually” → Input the SM-DP+ server and Activation Code provided.


B. Android (Samsung / Google Pixel / Other Android Devices)

  1. Go to:
    Settings → Connections → SIM Card Manager (or Mobile Network)
  2. Tap Add Mobile Plan / Add eSIM
  3. Select Scan QR Code and scan the provided code
  4. After installation, make sure “DiTrip eSIM” is enabled

👉 Manual Setup:
Settings → Mobile Network → Add eSIM → Enter details manually → Input the SM-DP+ server and Activation Code


3. Usage Settings

Enable Data Roaming

  • iPhone:
    Settings → Cellular → Select DiTrip eSIM → Turn on Data Roaming
  • Android:
    Settings → Mobile Network → Select DiTrip eSIM → Turn on Data Roaming

Select Default Data Line
Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data → Select DiTrip eSIM

APN Settings (if required)
Settings → Mobile Network → Access Point Names (APN) → Enter values provided by support
(e.g., internet, global, ibox, etc.)


4. FAQs & Important Notes

When should I install the eSIM?
We recommend installing and activating it after arriving at your destination to avoid early consumption of usage days.

Can I use my original SIM at the same time?
Yes. Recommended setup:

  • Primary SIM → Calls & SMS
  • DiTrip eSIM → Mobile Data

No internet after activation?
Please check:

  • Data roaming is enabled
  • DiTrip eSIM is selected as the data line
  • Manually switch networks (e.g., SoftBank / KDDI / AT&T / T-Mobile)

If the issue persists, please contact support immediately.

Can I transfer the eSIM to another device?
In most cases, eSIMs are one-time installation only and cannot be transferred.
Please confirm your device before installation.
